Super Bowl Half Time Show 2025: Kendrick Lamar Boomed the Show and Killed Drake with “They Not Like Us” Performance

Kendrick Lamar is one of the rappers that are called “great” ever since he joined the music industry. His songs always have something to drop into you or teach to the listeners. He has consistently proved himself as someone who is deep in making good music, writing lyrics and being so creative.
Sometime in 2024, a feud broke out among Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole and Drake on addressing the argument/opinion of who is the big no.1 artist or who are the big no.3 artists. J.Cole at earlier stage of the feud made a diss record targeted at Kendrick Lamar but he later apologized to Kendrick Lamar and pulled down the diss song.
Drake and Kendrick Lamar went head-to-head against each other with diss songs until Kendrick Lamar dropped the atomic bomb kind of diss song titled “They Not Like Us” which exploded Drake, Drake’s team and fans. The song was a banger and was well received locally and internationally in such a way that it automatically crowned Kendrick Lamar the winner in his feud with Drake. The song also got Kendrick Lamar so many awards.
With how Kendrick Lamar’s name was booming all over the world and across the streaming platforms, that created him a golden and exciting opportunity to be selected to perform at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in collaboration with NFL Entertainment Team, Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and the host city. After it was announced that Kendrick Lamar was the selected artist to head the show, some artists felt it was a partial selection and artist like Lil Wayne felt bad as he thinks he should have been the one who they should have selected. Great rapper like Nas congratulated Kendrick Lamar for being selected to head the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Interestingly, on February 9, 2025 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, Kendrick Lamar and his team gave some wonderful performances that resonated with the audience (viewers). He also invited few other artists to perform together with him. Also, Samuel L. Jackson and Serena Williams made surprise appearances during the show.
The Show got people talking and commenting about it.
When Kendrick Lamar and his team finally performed his diss song for Drake i.e. “They Not Like Us” and when Serena Williams came out to dance to the song, it was really a memorable event that will always be referenced.

It is good to know that Drake has refused to go down, he has released some new good songs that are topping charts.
