Who Knows What the Senate, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senator Natasha Akpoti Could Finally Arrive At Regarding the Ongoing Issues?

The month of March 2025 was a very loud month in the Nigerian House of Senate.
In what could be termed as a strained relationship between two former friends who now turned to enemies maybe due to both of them not getting what they wanted from each other in reciprocity effected to open war between them in the House of Senate.
The brave and fearless Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduagham said that the Senate President Godswill Akpabio has not been treating her well since 2024 in the House of Senate and was bent on not allowing some of her proposals to be read out or approved by the Senate. When Senator Akpabio debunked her claims and said that Senator Natasha framed up those claims because she is bitter that she was removed from being the Chairman of Local Content Committee, then another thing happened.
On February 2025, Senator Natasha’s seat was relocated upon resumption of the session without her notice, so she refused to seat on the changed seat location.
Her refusal to comply with the new seat arrangement made her to spark up in heated exchange of words with the Senate President by questioning why the reassignment of seat should be done without proper communication with her and some other things she angrily said to Senator Akpabio.
After the incidence of Senator Natasha Akpoti clashing with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the Senate decided that some disciplinary actions should be taken against Natasha. When Natasha heard about that, she opened up to tell the world and the people of Nigeria that the main hidden truth about her issues with Senator Akpabio was because she refused to agree to his sexual advances towards her. It was at this point that the House of Senate set up a committee to investigate the sexual abuse claims made by Senator Natasha against Senator Akpabio.
Consequently, the wife of Senate President also filed a law suit against Senator Natasha Akpoti for making sexual harassment allegations against her husband.
However, in what could be interpreted as non-transparent, biased, sentimental and unjust judgment, the Senate Committee ended up suspending Senator Natasha from the House of Senate for 6 months duration.
A lot of Nigerians condemned the suspension of Senator Natasha and called it injustice, intimidation and abuse of power by the Senate President and his ardent supporters.
Senator Natasha stated that the suspension (injustice) will not be sustained as she vowed to challenge it in court to get justice.
As if that was not enough for those forces who are fighting her in order to bring her down and end her political career, they went ahead to submit petition to INEC(Independent National Electoral Commission) to recall Senator Natasha Akpoti.
Unfortunately for those enemies of Senator Natasha, INEC rejected the petition to recall Senator Natasha Akpoti.
It also happened that she had to use helicopter to visit her home town during Salah period as the government of Kogi State blocked all the major roads just to stop her from using car to come around. Her supporters still came out in crowd to welcome her without minding some of the bans/restrictions that the Governor of Kogi State did put in place which were politically done to stop Natasha’s home coming.
At this juncture, fingers are crossed as the supporters of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senator Natasha Akpoti are curious to know what will finally happen.
Could they settle their differences amicably and with maturity and start working harmoniously in the House of Senate for the country’s development?
